April 14th, 2009
Life in the Rocky Mountains brings the strangest weather to my area. April 1st it snowed!!! Yes, snow. I thought April was about rain, right? Well it snowed several inches in my town. My 6 year old daughter, Madison made the statement that we were skipping Spring and going to Winter instead. Had to laugh at that one. Sometimes her serious statements just make me laugh: 1: because they usually have an element of truth, and 2: because it's coming from a six year old.
Now, two weeks later, it is finally acting like Spring and going to rain--though the reports saying mixed with snow. Easter was beautiful here and the kids were able to enjoy being outside in the sun and of course I got some of the yard cleaned up too.
As of this moment, I just created this blog; am trying to figure out why my husband, Dusty, wants a website created for himself??? I've been trying to get him to be more specific--so who knows??? Need to go online and pay bills--I love being able to pay my bills online--it sure is convenient and fast. Maybe that's why my cable bill is always overdue? They don't have an online pay--so usually if I forget to drive down to the cable company and pay the bill, I just have to sit home and wait for them to come to me when the bill is overdue enough, then I just write them a check and ---voila--bill paid.
They should really get an online setup so people like me can pay the bill on time.
Right now, it's pretty quiet--unusual for this time of day (10:34 am) but Madison is downstairs playing Spyro on the X-Box and my 2 year old son, Travis, is watching Imagination Movers on Disney channel. Pretty soon he'll be up and going a hundred miles an hour trying to destroy the house. No matter how many times a day I pick up the living room, it always looks the SAME---a cluttered mess of toys and items strung all over.
In an hour and a half I take Madison to kindergarten(where did the word kindergarten come from? It just doesn't fit with the rest of the grade titles--I mean, even Pre-schooler makes more sense--a child that is pre school age)
My oldest daughter Tiffany is 16 and a junior in high school. She graduates next Spring and I am both excited and nervous about that coming event. I know it's part of the rite of passage that she start her own life apart from mom and dad, but it doesn't feel like she should be almost out of school. As a teenager she is a good one. I don't have to worry about her out partying with friends or getting into trouble, most times I have to encourage her to get out of the house and do something with her friends. She likes to play the online game WOW( World of Warcraft) and she has many friends from all over the world that she socializes with when she's online, but she ties up the computer and her dad and I feel at times that her entire life revolves around that game and we have to be the 'mean parents' when we cut down the time she can spend in her online world.
Madison, the six year old is opinionated for her age and is my Drama Queen big time. She likes to be waited on and if something is too hard for her, she whines about it and complains that she can't do it, hoping( I think) that one of us will finish it for her. She loves school and even if she isn't feeling well, gets worried that I'll make her stay home. (Wish the teenager was like that) Madison is a very sociable girl and loves running--I think she's always running through the house or outside. I think soccer would be a good rec. sport for her, that way, she can run all she wants. She's also sensitive, very affectionate and loves her family.
Now as for Travis, the 2 year old and only boy--well he's fun and smart. He is very attentive and watches how some thing is done, then tries to do it himself. My husband and I say he reminds us of Calvin, from Calvin and Hobbes comic books. He's sweet and I never thought I'd want a boy, but now that I have one--I love it! But then, he is only two--who knows when he's 10 or 16. LOL. He makes me laugh and then does something that makes me want to pull my hair out. My husband is finally learning that if you don't want him to ruin something of yours, keep it behind closed doors or up high. He loves his sisters and thinks girls are all right. In fact, he likes to show off when Tiffany's friends come over, since they're girls.
Well----I think that should be enough for my first entry--I have to leave something to talk about on the next entries. LOL
